Review: Ya Salam Restaurant JLT

Hey there foodies! Last week our team were invited to review a new food joint “Ya Salam” at the HDS building, cluster F, in the Jumeirah Lake Towers Complex! Ya salaam! is a Bahrain based chain that has created and launched unique food concepts since 1987, with more than 30 restaurants operating. Recently it opened in Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai. The restaurant offers the traditional Arabian cuisine with a healthy twist, hand-prepared daily from fresh and natural ingredients, promising a flavor packed treat.
It was an easy to find little place around the back of the building, opposite the park and shop! It was a cool night so we took the opportunity to sit outside, with views of JLT on one side, Sheikh Zayed Road and the sexy sky scrappers on another, we sat the road side.. It was far enough to not hear too much of the traffic but close enough to get a great view!

On to the food! Yummy yummy! The menu at Ya salaam was fairly simple; a variety of salads, shawarma and shawarma platters! They had everything from Caesars to super food salads, lamb, beef, chicken and Donner shawarma and some tasty traditional sides like Taboula and humous, as well as your usual fries, onion rings, potato salad and such! One thing we loved was the ability to create your own shawarma, everything from the bread to what EXACTLY goes into it, with a choice of 6, its a pretty great deal! So if you love subway, you will LOVE Ya Salaam!
We ordered a Halloumi shawarma with Taboula and fresh pomegranate juice, and a Donner shawarma with Hummus. The helium was moist, cooked to perfection, and the Taboula had that taste of fresh! The donner was mouthwateringly thin and slightly crispy on the edges, just like a good old London Donner should be! It was a taste of the UK, in the heat of the middle east with its flavours and soft bread! Both poured with flavour and we went away happy bunnies!
Next, the ambiance.. It is a small place amongst many other restaurants and cafes, but the color scheme and table set up, dinner like inside and a chilled deck table setting outside was very suited to the style, The atmosphere is very nice as you sit outside, Specially at night we really loved sitting our side with the magnificent views of  Marina mall in our front and many other Sky scrappers along Sheikh Zayed Road.
The staff were super nice, especially Eddy! He was fantastic, very friendly and patient. He  greeted and served with a smile, positive attitude, a true credit to the company!
Enough of our jabber… Here’s some more snaps to entice you to this cute little place! A great place for families, as it over looks a little park, also good for that late night shawarma with your pals! Or even a afternoon bite after work! you can also follow them on facebook   or visit  their website www.yasalam.net for more info.
