Must try food places in Dubai!

Written by

Dubai is a great place for foodies, Food in Dubai is multi-cultural cuisine and extensive amount of food outlets, vans, cafes, restaurants, brunches, takeaways, and much more! There is something for everyone, at every price, in every corner of Dubai, from sitting on the floor to dinner with a view! This article just has a few of the wonderful food venues Dubai has to offer! Dinning in Dubai doesn’t have to be on in a 5* venue with a fantastic view and set courses, some of the top places to eat in Dubai derived from a single truck, are located in the less touristy part of Dubai!

Cheap, tasty, homely!

Mandi

Bait Al Mandi Selection

This is one of my personal favourite’s, a traditional yemeni dish; Mandi! This restaurant offers table seating and floor booths, I would personally recumbent you go all out for the experience and sit on the floor! A Mandi is a dish everyone gets stuck into! The rice and meat or fish is traditionally cooked underground and served in one HUGE plate for everyone to enjoy together! Traditionally eaten with your hands, but the restaurant will supply spoons upon request! One of the oldest ones in Dubai is located in Deira; Al Muraqqabat street. They serve a delicious soup and selection of salad for started and you can choose from a wonderful variety of meat or seafood Mandi with fresh juice, soft drinks or mock-tails! The staff are VERY friendly and they recommend a cost of 80DHS for 2 people but the plate is rather large so you probably will stretch that “2 people” recommendation to more! Mandi is a dining experience that caters to your pocket AND your appetite!

The Chinese that everyone Queues for!

Now this one has a few locations and I do not joke when I say they’re all busy! From midriff to Downtown to the one on the JBR Walk.. Especially on an evening or for lunch on the weekend, you can expect a 15-20min wait for a table, but it is DEFINITELY worth it! PF Changs most famous dish is their dynamite shrimps, and they now do dynamite chicken! The sauce that these beauties are marinated in will tickle your taste buds like no other! With a great selection of noodles, soups, salads and chins curries, you are bound to find something you will enjoy! The service across all branches is equal, friendly and happy staff! I personally love the Lo Mein with Chicken, but the best thing to do is pick a few mains, a rice and noodles, and share! It doesn’t end there ladies and Gents.. I can honestly say I have been to PF Changs more than once… JUST FOR DESERT! Yes, their Great wall of chocolate is something out of this world, with several luscious layers of sponge and chocolate frosting, served with a fruit coulis and fresh fruit… It certainly lives up to its name!

Yum Yum

Crank it up a 123 floors, taking you out of this world with At.mosphere

At.mosphere Burj Khalifa

Fine dinning at its best

This one might break a hole in your pocket and is definitely up their in the fine dining, but it doesn’t go by without a bang. Located on level 123 of the iconic Burj Khalifa, the views aren’t the only thing you can count on to make the At.mosphere! Credit card are required upon booking, so make sure you’re not late! The menu is contemporary European and It is also known for its steaks, the dressed is smart elegant, and let me tell you… Getting there is no walk i the park! After entering through the Armani hotel one must go through a series of lifts, all adding to the experience of this wonderful culinary experience. The restaurant is open from 12.30-3pm for lunch and 18.30-23.30 for evening dinner. The service, food and views are unexplainable, although many may find the Dubai skyline a bit of a bore without the Burj Khalifa, it is still stunning to be able to dine so high up and on a clear day its quite scenic to see the Burj Al Arab in the distance. Lunch is a set 2 or 3 course meal (Of your choice), If you are in a group or couple, maybe one of you can get the 3 and share a desert, I would recommend the butternut chestnut veloute and the Asparagus Risotto for mains! It all depends on your pocket for this one as a budget above 500AED is definitely recommended for 2 people, but it is a lovely alternative to going right to the top if you are entertaining guests of a more mature age, you can enjoy the views and have a lovely lunch or dinner! At dinner you can choose to have a 6 or 7 course experience menu! I would definitely put it in the top 10 restaurants in Dubai!

Something Sweet and Healthy!

Yum

Pink Berry Mango and strawberry Yoghurt, fruit and brownie pieces!

This next one isn’t fine dinning, nor is it a sit on the floor experience, but its something people are in and out of daily! With all the dinners and lunch food in Dubai, I wanted to mix it up a little and throw in a desert-y place!

With a choice to sit in or take out, PINK BERRY is an international brand that I personally had not tried before Dubai! The famous frozen yoghurt allows you to keep your gut healthy, as well as getting in some of your five a day, or having a little sweet treat with your yoghurt! The Pink Berry experience changes through out the year with different flavours, yet keeping the originals like chocolate, original, passion fruit, strawberry and mango all year round! You can have your frozen yoghurt with fruit or a choice of sweet toppings, ranging from chocolate shavings to Nutella, milk and peanut crunch and much more! Pink Berry is in almost every mall and no offer a delivery or “Full service”, for events! It is the perfect way to end a night, the perfect late morning snack and the perfect thing to serve for desert to your guests at an event!

Not your usual International cuisine

This is another relaxed, wallet friendly but still tasty one! Kabul DarBar is a Afghani restaurant, it has a homely feel and homely food! Now most asian and Middle Eastern food follow the same pattern of lots of spice and flavours, this is no exception, If you love a good curry or kebab, you need to extend your taste buds out into the rusty but mesmerising cuisine of Afghanistan! I would personally recommend the shanwari and a few chapli kebabs, but the menu is your sea… Explore and ask the waiters whats what… You will surely find something to indulge in! There is floor seating and raise table seating, You can sit as per your comfort! The Dubai branch is located in Meena Bazar (Bur Dubai).

Arab street wise food!

Tahiti.. Yumm!

This ones a street side cafe located on the 2nd of December street, not far from the main strip of beaches in Dubai! This cafe is a great representation of arabic food, without the big price tag of the big restaurants, with a choice of inside or outside seating you can enjoy a range of meat, falafels, shawarma, hummous and fresh juices and mock-tails! I would personally reccommend you try the Tahiti drink and the cheese and Zaatar pastry! There’s also a selection of seafood, pickled vegetables and much more! The cafe is a famous for all ages, families, and types of people… You could see a business man there or a bunch of friends stopping by to celebrate a birthday or you could see a couple enjoying the fresh air and tasty delights on a cool evening!
