So it may not be as hot and sunny as Dubai but the British summer as we all know it seems to be kicking in quite well and we want to give you a few idea’s where you can go enjoy the summer (While it lasts!), with your family, friends and loved ones! One of our top hot spots for this summer is a place in Ashbourne, Derby; Carsington Water Visitors Center! A reservoir packed full of things you can do to enjoy the outdoors!
This fun filled atmosphere has something for all the family and it lets you enjoy the beauty of the out doors while the British summer lasts! With acres of green grass and the reservoir centering the greenery and a little cafe and ice creams shop overlooking the view! Why not hop on a kayak? Hire a fishing boat? Enjoy the fresh air! There is also a visitor center that explains how to water is stored in the reservoir, pumped from the River Derwent at periods of “High rainfall” , a little educational trip too? Carsington is owned and operated by Severn Trent water.
With two parks for the children and a huge amount of space for picnics, games and walks, it is somewhere we would recommend you spend a whole day! There are benches for picnics, but the grass is well maintained and clean enough for you to put a picnic blanket down and have the kids rolling around on the grass!
There is lots of space for walking, cycling and exploring, if you want a family picnic with something for the kids and somewhere in the open, you should definitely take a day trip here!
